Support for forum at BPL

Not to take anything away from the fine forum here at HF. I am hoping to convince BPL to start a separate forum for us hangers there. They have a slew of forums with a wide range of subjects. But the hammock posts seem to fall into the cracks. I know there a quite a few who post on both forums and I would appreciate you voicing your support there.

You do not have to pay to be a member and post in the forums. I am a non-paying member (formerly paying) and I just posted.

I am (GASP) one who sleeps on and above the ground, depending on the trip. I appreciate wisdom from ALL sources and will go over to BPL after this and chime in.

The attitude in Greg's response is one reason I stopped going to BPL. Got tired of sorting thru all the arrogance and competition to find the good info.

But the more info that's out there for everyone to share, the better - hope you get your forum!

I think they have some great info over there on how to lighten up your back, but I'm not going to wade through 50 overtly aggorgant posts just to find the nugget here-and-there.

I also just posted on BPL... that said, it would also be nice to also see a corresponding lightweight backpacking with hammocks section on HF too.

Amen! There's a lot of great stuff there, but an awful lot of bitching, whining and elitism too. It's why I let my paid membership lapse... Not worth it to pay to be sneered at.

Thank you all who have posted over there giving your support. Every forum has their drawbacks. BPL is no different. It's too bad about Greg's comment sure. It just shows that he doesn't know that UL hammocking can be done. Let's prove him wrong. Post your UL hammock kit there too. Thanks again. Ken
