I agree with Michelle. Hammock campouts are a great place for prospective hammockers to get into hammock camping.

In fact, I have more than one hammock and I would be glad to let anyone (including Ewker ) who does not have a hammock use one of mine for the campout.

I have a hammock. I bought the el cheapo from the Sportsman Guide. I haven't hung it yet and have no place to hang it at home. It came with some rope so I guess you wrap that around a tree and place the snap hook in it. That is the extent of my knowledge on a hammock.

I, unfortunately will have to do my winter hanging here in Texas. My vacation is about used up for this year and my plans for next will preclude me traveling much to join one of these weekends.

However, I wish every one who does attend a pleasant camp.
    Peace,
    Joe

I'd be willing to drive a few hundred miles but that's all dependent on the road conditions.

If anyone can make to it Cincinnat, I can drive the rest of the way. Help break up the drive and split up the cost of gas. Plus ask Michele, I am fun on road trips.

I also have an extra HH Explorer Ultralight if anyone needs a hammock to try out.

We had the group campsite that was pretty uneven and was on a slope, right next to the French River. It was perfect for hanging, not the greatest for tenting. I'm sure he could have found a spot eventually, but Ed Speer "just so happened" to have an extra hammock and offered it to Bob, so Bob jumped on the opportunity. Considering the majority of people who go to designated campsites use tents, I'd have a hard time believing you'd have any difficulty finding a spot too, considering the sites are made for that specifically. We'd love for you to come though....tent or no tent.

Yea...who would have guessed a Mitsubishi could maintain near triple digit speeds for an extended period of time!
