Poll: Where will you be living in late January?

Hey everyone, this is a poll in response to Hammock Engineer's thread on trying to plan a winter hammock campout. Please respond only if you are seriously anticipating attending a weekend campout near the end of January. Maybe this will make it a little easier to find a central location for everyone.

I've clustered states into 4 major groups so feel free to post your exact state in a reply. Also, if I've not included your state (I'm going by what I've seen people mention about their location) then choose the cluster your state is closest to.

Michele where's the poll? Good thing you started it, I haven't started a poll yet and knew I'd mess it up. Good thing you beat me to it. (smiley face)

I'm in Ohio, minutes from KY or IN.

I don't see why not....as long as where we all end up going has a viable site for you to set up a tent. Only reason I brought that up was because when Ed Speers hosted the hangout in Hot Springs. NC, one person I like to refer to as, "Bob the bear-fighter", showed up w/his tent and had a difficult time finding level ground, so he ended up sleeping his first night in a hammock....slept so good he woke 1/2 the camp up with screams because he was dreaming he was getting attacked by a bear! HILARIOUS!!!

If you are at all considering hammocking, coming to one of these things is the BEST place to learn about it and see, in person, what it's about. I hung my hammock the first time at Hot Springs (with help from Just Jeff and others) and it's been a cinch ever since.

It's up now....when you start a poll, the message posts first and then you have to build the poll, so for forum addicts like me and you, we see the message before the person gets the poll built. I tried to make it so we can see clusters of people and go from there.

if you camped at the Hot Springs campground I don't see why he didn't find a place to tent. Lots of places there.

    I haven't found a spot yet that I couldn't tent

We had the group campsite that was pretty uneven and was on a slope, right next to the French River. It was perfect for hanging, not the greatest for tenting. I'm sure he could have found a spot eventually, but Ed Speer "just so happened" to have an extra hammock and offered it to Bob, so Bob jumped on the opportunity. Considering the majority of people who go to designated campsites use tents, I'd have a hard time believing you'd have any difficulty finding a spot too, considering the sites are made for that specifically. We'd love for you to come though....tent or no tent.

I will hopefully be able to attend. If so I will be coming from south central PA near the Mid point. (Pine Grove Furnace).
