Thanks! I've had good experience with Strapworks. I'd be nervous about the straps from Hancock though. Not knowing what they're made from, they might stretch -- although that might not matter much for a lightweight kid though.

    Update

Ok, an update on pink camo, I got my sample from Rockywoods.com really nice pattern , PU coated so not good for hammock, feels like satin on best pattern side "outside" so I'm thinking debris magnet, and the # compared to 1.1RS "Idont have scale" Is different to me a little heavier. So a no go on this.
I did find some in Hong Kong, Have to buy 1000 meters or more Anyone want to go Halvzies

I'll probably go with GT or Byers. The things you'll do for your kids..

ps. Thanks to WV and Jeff for the late night answers to my ?s. I think one got out of bed to help me. Great Members!!

I've got the grand truck "pink" hammock and their "pink" shopping bag too!! It's a nice hammock but it's not very wide. I use it to just hang out in, in the back yard. Or I'll take it as a spare to again just hang out in, if I'm car camping. For me, I though it was a bit narrow to sleep all night in.

I've put the amsteel blue in RED on one side of my Clark hammock, the other side is silver. I did this so I could tell the head end from the foot end when I had to set up in the dark using a headlamp. The RED was more reddish when I first bought it but now it's looking more like a really hot pink or at least not a true red. It does seem to be fading or something as I use it. Either way, I like it.

Funny, I was looking for some Sil or camo Ripstop and found the same Hong Kong stuff. Great price if we can find 10 other people to go in on it!

Ever thought about doing a tie dye "camo"? Might not be your typical camo pattern, but at least you could get something similar, and maybe the kids could help.. Maybe..

I think it would be more like the kids dyeing themselves pink... But that's a really cool suggestion.

How well does ripstop nylon hold dye though? I'd have to get more info. I'd hate to have [esp. pink] dye leach onto kids, clothing or other gear due to humidity or other causes.

That might do the trick. If you use the correct dye and process, nylon works just fine. There are a few threads on dying nylon that worked really well.

What about this: rather than tie dye with various shades of pink, just buy a light camo color and die it pink??? The camo shades may show the pink to the varying degrees you're looking for. If one of you will try it, I'll donate a few yards of this to try it out on.

Sure I'd be happy to. I just have to see if there's pink dye out there. Do you think that RIT dye would be ok? That's the only kind I've seen around here.
