    Cheap camo tarp 8x 10 $13.00

Hi.... Just a heads up, was scrounging around at my local meijer store this weekend and noticed they have 8x 10 camo tarps for 13 bucks..
Ozark trail I believe, same grade as the home depot tarps for those of us on a tight budget... I currently am using a brown one I got from Gander mt. on sale for 4 bucks.. Am totally impressed how well they do even in moderate wind conditions.... Some day I will get a real tarp.....But until then.....hhhmmmmm

Rural King stores here in Ohio carry them for $6.99
    http://www.ruralking.com/tarp-camoflauge-8-x-10.html

These work great pitched diagonally for a cheap setup.
The photos below are from last week's AT hike through Maryland. My Scouts carry these tarps as part of their $25 hammock kit.
The last photo is 2 of the tarps pitched for a ground setup (he woke up and moved to the shelter later that night ).

So ... this is a poly tarp ... not a coated nylon tarp?

I'm using a 10' X 12' poly tarp until I get my Etowah Camo tarp in. 3.5 oz per sq yd. I used this tarp for ground camping until I got my WB Traveler.

I got it from Tarps On Line for 14.00 plus shipping:

I have a 8x10 polly tarp from Rural King as well. Different camo pattern though. 6.99 as well. Have not tried it on the diagonal yet.

Can you describe these kits? I spent a week in Texas on a HA trip recently... the boys d@amn near melted in 2 man tents. Hammocks would have been wonderful.

Our troop has a few Hennessys but we don't get them out often... nobody seems to like the bottom entry. Inexpensive, individual kits would be great.

    JW,
See this earlier post for a description of what's in the kit.
