    Finished matching Top Quilt

Just finished a matching TQ for the UQ I made last week. These were my first attempt at sewing and quite a learning experience. I have taken plenty of pictures for beginning to end if anyone wants more details. Later, I may add snaps where I reinforced the shell and liner on the inside, above and below the velcro (see pictures).

Really really nice looking quilt. I like the sewn-thru pattern you used, looks fantastic. What did you use for insulation? Dimensions?

Thanks, I used 3 oz. primaloft sport for insulation. Momentum 0.9 oz taffeta for the liner and momentum 0.9 oz ripstop for the shell. I wanted black on one side, so it would dry faster in the sun in case it gets wet.
The top of the quilt measures 53" across for the first 18". After which, it tapers down to 42" at the foot end. The overall lenth is 84". I am 6'-1" medium build with 13 shoe size, and I still had plenty room in the foot box when closed. I move alot in my sleep and wanted a slightly larger quilt.

I figure about 40 degrees give or take. I guess it depends on other factors. But I would say 40. Shug just watched that BBQ video, now Im hungry again. Great job.

Really sharp. Nice needle work with the old school thread banger. Nice to see the classic machine working smooth.

LOL, Amie cant even thread the machine. I can ALWAYS fit more good food. That smoked deer was SMOKIN. Maybe you should make a video. But once again Amie sew, LOL LOL.....

Gargoyle, Thanks. The sewing machine is a 1941 Singer 201. It can only straight stitch. But, I have both a zig zaging and button hole foot that I still havent used yet
