    Bamboo Hammock stand - DIY

Few sketches, a mini sample and off to the Bamboo workshop.

One day of work, two guys, not a single nail, only Bamboo pins and rods.

The stand is available for resorts in the Philippines, easy to copy if you have Bamboo in your backyard, needs 4 big Bamboos.

At last pictures the model fold.

Awesome looking stand! I don't think that anyone in CONUS will find bamboo growing locally that is anywhere near that big. Pity.

Skippy found two patches of large bamboo in AL. The Prairie Travois used bamboo 4" in diameter!

Make sure to harvest the ones at the right age Bamboo gets stronger over the first few years of its life (even though each culm only grows for a few months and then never again!)

EDIT: Also note that most commercially available structural bamboo is treated for insect resistance using Borax (there are how-tos online that explain this process)
