Yep, I spelled it "UNTIE" not Unite.
I can honestly say that everyone that showed up on Thursday had a rocking good time! We all got to the trailhead at 1500 (3:00 PM) & said "Thanks!" to the trail maintainers as they left the trail. Headed up a nicely graded, very well (& freshly) maintained trail. At around 1700 we got to camp "C" & said "HEY" to the two groundlings already there. Fixed dinner & posed for a group photo that I'll attach as soon as I figure it out.
The next morning (Friday) got up & hung around for a while just doing nothing, that was kind of a mistake as it had been raining since around 0800 & that would have been cooler weather to hike in, oh well! Had a great, but VERY HOT hike to campsite D, again on well maintained trail. We passed quite a few historic places, all well marked on the map with numbered markers on the trail. Very interesting as everyone in the group is very interested in history. Even got to see a native American ceremonial pit, way cool.
Campsite D is very nice (C is no slouch either!) with a water tank as the water source & a well maintained Privy similar to the one at "C", but the largest area, also furthest from the trail, is a GREAT place to have a communal get together. Both sites have enough hanging sites for 40 - 50 hangers.
This morning (Sat) for whatever reason, we all decided to hit the trail early, , oh yea, "To beat the heat". Due to the heat & vicious gnats, it was decided to call it quits. When we stopped for water back at "C" Met with some groundlings, during the conversation I showed them my hammock set up, they were way impressed.
Took a leisurely stroll on the gravel road back to the car & decided to drive back & see if the groundlings needed a ride, I am so glad I did, I had left my Dutch clips & straps behind after the demonstration. I would not have noticed until I got home that they were missing. Thankfully, they grabbed them for me!!
All in all it was a GREAT hike, even in spite of the heat & humidity.

You all missed a great hike.
