    Who's got a Lawson hammock?

Does anybody have one of these?

"The BRCH is also lightweight - only 4.25 lbs - and it actually reduces your overall pack weight, since users don't have to carry added ground tarps and sleeping pads."

Are they high? That's like twice the weight of comparable hammock systems out there. However, it looks kind of nice and I bet would be a great car camping system.

Curious if anyone has one and if they'd be willing to tell us about it.

I was thinking about one of those, but the reviews i read on it (not sure where but it was a backpacking equipment site) suggested it was not all that easy to set up and take down - in fact the reviewer said it took as long as a tent.

Doesn't surprise me. It has what looks like fiberglass tent poles holding up the bug netting.

Nah not a dodo, I think it's along the same lines as the tents you buy at Walmart, Kmart, and all those "marts". For the non-hiking camper, it is probably just as liberating to be off the ground. You don't need light if you're only carrying it a few dozen yards.

Besides, I like the entry! You can just see it in the pics; it's a round tent-style entry. I like odd things.

I came over because someone asked me about this hammock - and I'd never heard of it before. Think I'll tell the guy to keep looking.

Dino - where have you been?! Haven't seen you posting lately!

I think I'd shy away from these, too. The Crazy Creek I tested for BGT is lighter than that, and still stays wide open with the poles. It's a pretty good design, and pretty comfortable when used with an inflatable pad...but I wouldn't take it over a HH or Speer-type if I were backpacking. I'm selling this one for $80 if you're interested. I'm about to put it on eBay b/c no one here has wanted it.
