    TTTM Double and Single...

Just got my order in from TTTM. Bought a single and a double and a bug net. Shipping was fast, ordered on Saturday night, package on porch on Thursday. Visual inspection, materials and workmanship look very good.

I'll post an update after we use them some.

My son (5'8" 125lbs) has slept two nights in the single. We were on the NC coast so he had to use the bug net too. (I slept inside. ) It was very hot. He used a light blanket, was very comfortable and slept well.

The single and the bugnet are well made. I'm not fond of the "tube style" of the bug net, but it covers everything and it works well.

So far, I would say that the TTTM gear is well made and an excellent value.

I'll test the double at a later date. -jw

so I've spent a night now in my TTTM double...

The double is very nice, strong, worth what I paid for it. The rope in the gathered ends appeared to be acceptable. I removed the "S" hooks from the rope and replaced with 2 SMC rings on each end (lark's head knot). Then slipped through straps I got from strapworks.com and finished off with Dutch Clips (which are great!!!)

Setting up this rig was super simple and fast... oh and I added a ridgeline of paracord, about 100"

This thing is comfortable and sturdy. My son is keeping the TTTM bugnet which I was not crazy about and I found a good deal on the "Hammock Bliss Cocoon" model. The Cocoon is sweet, works great with the TTTM double. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I can roll up the TTTM Double with the Cocoon net still on it and get it all stuffed into the bag attached to the Cocoon... I worry that might damage the net?

The whole package was about $170.

For a tarp I will be adding a Noah 9 or possibly one of these:

    Anybody have one of these?

The netting will be fine. Maybe a little larger stuff sack would simplify the process?

I would have tried one of their hammocks a long time ago, were it not for the $20 shipping charge. That's a deal killer for this child.

I use one of those campmor 10 x 10's - it's a good tarp. It may be slightly small for your double (it was for mine) unless you string it in a diamond fashion. Check my gallery page for a pic of both in use (you'll be able to see what I'm talking about)

JW, I use the same set-up you do (or did.) I have a TTTM double, Hammock Bliss Cocoon, and Kelty Noah's Tarp 9. It may weight more than other hammock campers' setups but for me, it's perfect.
