Shock Cord Diameter for Tarp Pullouts

I was watching Shug's videos and have also contemplated using shock cord for my winter tarp pullouts. What diameters are people using? I would think 1/8" is standard, but I have also looked at 3/32" and also 7/64". Is this too thin? Would it not be that effective is snow were to get on the tarp?

I would say the 1/8th would be better couple reasons. 3/32 is enough smaller that it has a lot less of the elastic cord in side and while it stretches a lot it also does not have any where near the tension. Second, the 1/8th that I have is polypro for the sheath so it remains stretchy even below freezing much better than nylon sheaths do. So for a winter tarp your cord will still work when the smaller may not.

i use 3/16 th's because its the same as my kayak deck cord. it works, but that's my only reason and i thought it would be more weather resistant. ??

AHE has both. Unless you are buying it by the roll then it's cheap enough.
