VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!
Wow... my largest tarp weighs more than your entire Rig Thanks much for sharing and showing it can be done!
Excellent work Sgt Rock
Some of us are always on the quest to go lighter so we can enjoy going farther.
You are leading the way to more discoveries
Just got back in. Doing post hike clean up. I finally got some water on the tarp. Lots of pictures and a video to download off the camera.
16 miles today and I am HUNGRY.
Well I bought the arrow to make toggles and stakes with. I make these 0.14oz (4 gram) stakes using arrow shafts and hardwood golf tees. 1 arrow is good for 4 stakes and 2 toggles.
The bugnet was a fairly simple design. I didn't sew it, my wife keeps me away from the machine after a few attempts at using it years ago.
I like the ridge-line. I actually prefer not having one at all but found for the net and my winter sock I needed something to keep these off my face. I've also found it to help with my new IX underquilt suspension that weighs 0.07 ounces (2 grams) per side. I made the ridge-line where I could easily get it out of the way when I son't need it. The pictures I am going to upload will show better what I mean.
You gotta sweet talk my wife if you want one made LOL.
Pictures are uploaded, uploading video....
Tree strap with toggle.
Hammock. Notice the non structural ridge-line with nacrabiner in the center for taking down the line when it isn't needed.
UCRs connected to the tree straps.
Close up of the end of my UCR bury using silicone tubing to make it easier to use correctly.
Continuous tarp ridge-line over the hammock.
Close up of the Kliemhiest prussic used to tension the line - similar to a trucker's knot.
Close up of the nacrabiner prussic for attaching the tarp.
Tarp corners folded under to create the hex shape. The corners can be closed down as doors.
The head end of the hammock with cuben sack attached.
Foot end of the hammock with the small foot box and pull out to define it.
IX underquilt suspension prototype. weighs about .14 ounces for each end. 1' of bungee material with 1.25mm line nacrabiners.
Hammock packed up. 2 layer IX underquilt is also in the bag with the hammock and net. The watter bottle is for scale.
My sub pound hammock next to my son's Hennessy Ultralight Asym.

That is one squared away rig, Sarge! Any idea on the---gulp--cost? I for one would love to emulate your rig, but I'll have to make a budget and save my pennies! Thanks SO MUCH for sharing your wisdom!

Surely, God never did.
