That looks like it fills the ticket for an UQ protector.

Don't know if the size would fit the JRB underquilt..
    2Q, Would it fit?

Wonderful stuff. I can't keep up with the evolution of equipment on HF

We cut them 64" x 88" but can cut them any size you want. The fabric is 64" wide but the length is adjustable. I'd say measure your JRB, might be OK as we regularly make them.

The benefit of dri ducks is that it is one of the best breathing fabrics you can buy. A straight vapor barrier will result in your perspiration being trapped in your UQ. That is in part why JRB discontinued their previous weathershield made of sil with a strip of dwr in the middle.

8.5 ounces sounds heavy, but when you consider that it will add 5-10 degrees of warmth while keeping your UQ dry, it's really not a bad trade-off. Some have used the dri ducks alone in warmer conditions just to add some warmth. The weathershield can also hold loose items between the hammock and the shield to yield even more insulation.

    Wisenber is right on...

A non breathable, read sil or cuban, is a moisture trap that will soak the quilt with repeated field use... We have not found a breathable WP material lighter than two ply microporus polypropelene (same stuff as in DDP).... Nor less cost than DDP.
