    Hang/Hike/Fly Fish Trip

Any Hanging Fly Fishers out there who want to join me for a Nov 1/2/3rd hang/backpack and Fly Fishing trip to the Smokies?

I am going to leave either Wed evening arriving late and do a "stealth hang" off the AT or leave very early the 1st and hit the trail at 0-dark-thirty.

Plan: Depart at Newfound Gap heading East on the AT. Take the Dry Sluice Gap Trail on NC side of the mountian to Cabin Flats Trail and set up base camp at BC #49.

    Trip in- Approx 9.2 miles

Trip out- Approx 11.4 miles. Cabin Flats to Dry Sluice....to....Grassy Branch Trail...to....Sweat Heifer Creek Trail... to... AT and back to New Found Gap.

    Any takers??

I probably can't make it, but I sure wish I could! Flyfishing and hanging in the smokies in cool weather- sweet! If something changes, I'll be there.

    Gittyup!

Hope you can make it BB. Sure would be nice if we could get a little rain between now and then? Shoot me a PM if things work out. Good to hear there are some other fly fisher/hangers out there.

Pretty little town is Toccoa. Home of the worlds strongest man, Paul Anderson. Now deceased. I hike the back end of Panther Creek trail in Toccoa. Going there tomorrow nite but starting at the front end. Nice little drive that is beside the Tugaloo river (state line).

sweet trip. the chattooga ridge trail to the bartram to the foothills covers so much of the chattooga you can camp on it every night for three days straight.
