That was great! The kid in pic 44 looks terrified of that Frawg!

Great report. I'm glad you had a good time.

It did get hot. Some people who had tents didn't sleep in them because they were so hot!

The boy behind Thing2 never went into the water-filled Carolina Bay. I like all snakes, including venomous ones!

Thing2 has hung in Turkey Pen Gap and that's it. She hasn't got much experience hanging.

Thank you! We put the boys to even more shame than you think; we also held spiders we found, two beetles, and we weren't nervous of the wolf spider or water moccasin!

That "Halloween Tree" is lighterwood. It burns very well, and termites can't get into them. That was one of the few lighterwood trees left in the property. Long ago, they cut down almost all of the lighterwood trees. The bay with water is fun. All we were doing was wading in it. we wanted to see the rest of the bay(it was surrounded with vegetation) and see the critters in it.

Great report. Sounds like a really nice trip. I think it's cool when people take the time to learn more about the ecosystem their in. You then appreciate the diversity within and between different areas. Adds a richness to the experience.

The pics were great, especially the looks on the boys faces with the bullfrog pics!!

You dad must be proud of you two.
