angrysparrow- I agree. I wouldn't even consider it if they are going to send it to me right before I left. But, if I can get a few weeks with it ahead of time I think it might be fun. Besides, somebody has to do it.
Dutch- that'd be cool if you could get some info. They haven't given me much yet, just asked about my experience and gear. I've got a pretty short resume, so they may not even pick me.
Interesting the wording says it could be used as a tarp or a hammock. I will have to remember to ask when I pass through.

Hey Good News!
I was selected for one of the tester roles; got an email a bit ago. Really kind of cool, but I've already made my commitment to the Warbonnet. Also, I seem to remember Hammock Engineer making a post about seeing the actual set-ups and not being overly impressed by them.
So, I will be responding to let them know I will not be able to be a tester for them. I hate letting good luck go to waste, but maybe somebody else will get an opportunity that they are excited about. Just wanted to let everybody know that good things do happen occasionally.
I did get a chance to see it, not hang it it though. It weighed about 20 oz and seemed to work only as a tarp or only as a hammock. It seemed to me to be more for someone who wanted to tarp and occasionally hammock. PM me with your email if anyone has any more questions.
