Paw Paw to Little Orleans Float

Strung2Tight and I floated from PAW Paw to Little Orleans (Thur-Sat)
Picked up a shuttle at Bills bar in Little Orleans (thats another whole story).
Got on the river at 2:00pm Thursday.
about a mile into the Paw Paw bends, there was 5 guys sitting in lawn chairs, drinking beer and smoking ribs (and Cigars). Sat with them about 1/2 hour and drank beer, they offered for us to stay and drink all we want and have ribs, Then we mentioned we sew, and they asked us to leave.

Made it to a tow path camp site at dark, set up, got a fire going, and ate.
Got back on the river about 10:00 AM, intending to do about 9 miles, leaving 4 miles to go on Sunday. Our 2 intended camp sites where not very good, we were now 2 miles from Little Orleans, It was decided to try to make Little Orleans and camp there and hit Bills for beer and steak.
Made it at dusk, set up in the camp ground, changed and went to Bills, cash only closes at 10ish.
We were given directions to a BP gas station that has an ATM.
Pulled into the BP, about 100 Pickups, Harley's, Dune Buggies, 4 weelers.
The BP has an outdoor bar populated with 20ish Y.O. crowd, Stayed for a few, watch the young things get drunk, went back to camp and crashed.
Caught a lot of small mouth this trip,
All in all a good trip.

Looks like a fine trip, but....
"they offered for us to stay and drink all we want and have ribs, Then we mentioned we sew, and they asked us to leave."

Sounds like it was an interesting trip. You got to spend time in the great outdoors. And got to have a few beverages, caught a few fish. I would call thar a good trip. Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like a great trip! How did that new quilt work? Temps at night? Lookin to replicate your pattern in an IX double layer UQ.
The trees are drawing me near, I've got to find out why?
Those gentle voices I hear, explain it all with a sigh.

Temps got to mid to high 50's at night, I had the UQ (3.7 climashield)
and was in a $9.00 fleece sleeping bag, I got cold from the TOP side, but was warm on the bottom (back), 1st time that has ever happened, so the UQ work great.
Strung2Tights UQ and TQ work perfect for him.
