Is it really cool in the gorge? When I think of the south in the summer I think of hot and humid worse than here in pa. Looks like a great trip.

We had lows all around us last weekend, generating a NE breeze, thus it was cool.

The temps were great last weekend. Humidity was still high but the cool temps and breeze made it very comfortable. I don't know if we just got lucky or what but it was a big change from the triple digits down here in SC

My only wish was that we would have had more time to spend there. Thanks for the all the suggestions. I can't wait to get back and see some more of the Gorge!

I've found that life is a lot more fun to live when you act like a doof! I have to play the "professional" far too much that being a doof is a release!

I'm thinking of going the 13-15th. Had another trip planned here in Tennessee but it looks like it will be too hot for what I wanted to do. But the forecast for Linville area looks much much better.

Any suggestions for a first timer to the gorge?
