    CAN'T WAIT,new hammock comming

OH Man this has been the longest week I have had in a long time. I ordered my hammock(blackbird) with a superfly tarp, and also the 3 season yetti last monday and I keep checking the mail everyday just like a kid on christmas morning........
I am so done with ground sleeping, My last hiking trip on the At was a great hike but dreaded sleeping because I knew I would be tossing and turning, cause the ground from monson, (maine) to Katahdin, (maine) is hard as a rock!!!

Congrats on your purchase. You should love those items.

Now the hard part begins, the wait for your gear to arrive. Just try not to think about it too much and hopefully a month or so will fly by and you will have your gear.

I don't have the wonderful tarp or the great UQ, but I can speak for the hammock and I will say it is quite a ride.

I am exactly the same as you. Be forewarned when you get it you will make up excuses to put it and chill in it :P

Congrats! On my first attempt in the 100 Mile Wilderness (06) I used my Speer hammock with mixed results. On my second attempt (08) I used a tent and really regretted it. Now that I have my BB & Yeti, I am confident that I'll always get a great nights sleep if I take the time to tweak the hang.

    You'll never regret it!

Thanks for all the great feedback,,, still wating but thats ok because the wate will be worth it...
A funny thing happened to me the other day.. I got my whoopie slings in the mail and was wondering what I couls use as a hammock to try the slings out,,,,,,,Well I grabed an old sheet from the closit,,Yea a bed sheet..
I hung the slings, attached the whoopie slings to the sheet and there it was my new hammock, Well untill I got my B.B.
I layed in it for about three minutes then all of a sudden BLAM on the ground I went.. No the slings didnt give,or break.. the sheet pulled in half without any warning..ouch
I was laughing so hard I almost p'd my pants.
Then I got up and made sure no one saw my misshap.................... I think I will just wate for my bb. My back will thank me if I do.
Thank goodness I was only about 6 or so inches off the ground. Now hows that for a funny story and its all true 100%

Congrats on the new hammock, from what I've been reading, you won't be disappointed with the Blackbird!
