Is this supposed to be like that?

Most of the times I've been in my HH exped. one side of the hammock is always rather tight and the other side is rather loose.

Since I'm laying diagonal, this is what I mean by "one side". Left and right side of the inside of the hammock for laying diagonal. The center of the hammock is always very tight, but I can understand that.

Anyways, is this normal or am I hanging something wrong?

Also, a CCF pad (my 24in wide one) is difficult to lay on in the tight side of the hammock. Not so bad in the more loose side.

This made me come home and set-up my HH; been a while.

I have the UL Explorer and don't get much looseness when I lie diagonally. There is a little bit there by my feet, but not enough to notice. The side to the right of my head is pretty taut and my head is positioned pretty close to the netting on the left side, so no flop there.

Now, if I lie straight down the middle, I get lots of loose material...everywhere, head and foot ends.

Does this help at all? Maybe you should post some pics of what you're getting, because I don't think I'm seeing it. Maybe it's the different models? I'm not sure.

And no, those aren't socks. I play golf, leave me alone.

First picture is how my hammock is hanging. Maybe the problem is my stand is not lined up with the other support (the fence there).

In the second and third pictures, one side is rather tight when I place my weight there and the other side has stretch. The last one has a foot in each spot. And no I am not pushing harder on one side to make it look like that... and my left foot is not heavier than my right.

Here is the back of the hammock where I will rest my head. It is very tight at the top and doesn't spread out very much. Probably normal I don't know, just doesn't feel so good on the back of your head.

Everything your experiencing seems normal to me in a Hennessy.
Your pretty much supposed to sleep on one side of the Hennessy. Left tie-out equals head end. Right tie-out equals foot end. If you switch to the other side, it will feel tight and not as comfortable.

FF is right. They really are not very comfortable if you lay with your feet on the left side of center; IMO. It looks like the slack is removed, mostly, in the third pic when you are in the 'correct' position.

How tall are you? I wonder if maybe your head is just too close to the whipping/rolling. I'm 6' and really enjoy having the extra space (a whole 10") in the Explorer.

I sure hope that fence is stronger than it looks in the picture.

After looking at the picture of the fence again, it looks like you've got a pretty steep angle from the hammock to the tie-off. It is my understanding that the tighter you set the suspension on the HH the better. I've never set it 'loose' before and I know the ridgeline is supposed to make it perfect everytime, but I'm a cynic. Try really pulling it tight and see if that changes anything about the way the fabric falls.

Just a thought.
