Thanks for the heads up on these. I ordered one just to keep on the Harley. I've got plenty strapping, aluminium toggles and Amsteel to rig it. I'll have my wife run a few extra lines of stitching if she thinks it needs it.

I've lost 90 lbs in the last 21 months getting down to 175 lbs, I think it'll be just fine.

don't even worry about the extra stitching. I think Grizz has a video on here somewhere to shouw how to whip the end like brandon from Warbonnet does. If you do that the end channel stitching is irrelevent.

I remember seeing that, I have a basic idea of what needs to be done. I believe the attachment loom is the top of the gather/knot.

Hey, I got connection while camping.

We stopped into REI yesterday to pick up some Badger bug balm, a 13pack of biners and compare the ENO to the EQUIP.

The ENO appears to be in closer relationship to Trek Light than EQUIP. The construction of the EQUIP is still high quality yet has the finishing touches of a high volume manufacturer rather than a craftsman. The material has a high sheen and seems a little more slippery, otherwise it is comparable. I'm testing strap suspension right now and did not use those supplied, they are pretty short and would not have worked last night. By contrast, the Equip was much easier to swap in the biners, a few seconds; the Treks and ENO take minutes. Overall I am impressed with the value of the product.

Below are the pictures of camp set up last night. I had both EQUIP's binered and hung up in less time than the one Trek Light; in fact I gave up swapping out the 'S' hooks of the trek and hooked it up. I rigged 2 hammocks for the kids to the same two large diameter trees, comming off opposite sides. They were close enough to reach each other but weren't touching. My daughter (9) slepped in the EQUIP and my son in the Trek. They got the Tyvek Homewrap tarp. I slepped in the other EQUIP using only one of their trees. I felt the slipperiness allowed me to swing in and shift off the centerline easier than the Treks' material does. They are wide too, I haven't pulled a tape on them yet yet it felt just as roomy as our doubles; I rolled up in it. We slepped just fine is an area that would have been impossible in a tent (any tent.) By comparison a $20 hammock, a $7 tarp, and $15 in custom rigging blew away any night I've spent in a tent.

    I hope this helps.

    walmart compare to speer

I have one of these.... wife and I have both taken turns sleeping in it. Here's the deal. For car camping etc. I'll take it. It isn't as ahhh deep? as a speer hammock, and somewhat heavier. If it's really hot I like the nylon material, it doesn't cling and the flatter profile lets the breeze get on ya. If you toss and turn alot or feel unsecure in a hammock like you might fall out? or it's cold.... or you're going for ultralight weight; the speer is better but sure i see the price tag. thats why it's the back up.

Is this too long to be used as a hammock chair?
Just thinking of other uses for this hammock.

Nothing wrong with that. Start cheap and work your way up as you see fit.

No. As long as you can hang it you can sit in it.
