    Speer Winter Tarp burn hole

Hi, last time when I went hiking on the AT in Mass it was really dry and i was having a fire, I guess I was a little to close, and lots of hot ember were shooting everywhere I had one hit my grey speer winter tarp and burn a tiny hole in the tarp toward the bottom of one side. I was wondering if there is anything to patch it with that wouldn't be noticeable?

Not really...either patch it with another piece of silnylon or slap some duct tape on it. Either way you'll be able to see it.

You can pretty easily patch a small area on a sil nylon tarp by cutting a circular oversize to the hole in the tarp ... smear the patch with sil seam sealer and put the patch over the hole ... you might want to do a double patch, one on each side of the hole. Then put aluminum foil or plastic wrap over the spot ... a couple blocks on each side and stack something to keep medium pressure on it ... I've used a clamp.

Makes a good repair but definitely visible. BUT it will not leak!
