Just found this thread, great pics. I am a canoe camper as well and if trees are limited you may want to throw some rock climbing nuts in your pack then you can just wedge in a crack of the rock. It will hold you and a couple more hundred pounds.

Did a little trip down around Steelville earlier this summer, but no overnights. Only dumped the canoe 3 times!
