    Question Snake skins

I was just thinking instead of using snake skins on your tarp or hammock what about just using
    velcro strips.

They will work fine .... many here do that.
    Helps control the material.
Here is a video I did on tarp and reefing lines .... similar to the velcro idea.

Could catch/snag your netting and clothing. Omni tape might be better.

Seems to work fine without catching on anything.I use them just like snake skins. But I only use 5 or 6 small pieces of velcro. Then when it looks like
rain I take them off and put them in the stuff sack.

That's what I do...three velcro "cable wraps" from Ace Hardware. Works great and a lot easier to deal with than snakeskins. With the "slot" cut in one end of the ties, I have them "permanently" looped to my tarp ridgeline. (I have snakeskins on my winter tarp.)

What an excellent idea, I will certainly give this a try! Velcro straps, should be wiedely available in nearly any hardware store I'd say?
