How in the world do you guys get tarp edges trimmed with gross gain? I have a hemmed edge and I have my 7/8 in gross gain ribbon, but I cannot easily get it set up to sew. Any help would be appreciated.
The frustration alone makes Brian's prices on OES tarps look like an absolute steal.....

Same here on the ironing. Got frustrated trying to pin it when the light bulb went off on the ironing a fold.
I found that if I took the grosgrain off the ribbon spool and then folded it in half while I was respooling the ribbon, it would maintain its fold well for thread injecting. (I left it on the spool for a day or so and wrapped it as tight as I could) Its quick and easy. (not as nice and crisp as ironing, but it looses that after a little wear anyway.)
I iron AND pin. BUT, I have been pinning before I sew for 50 years, so it's second nature to me & pinning puts me in my "Comfort zone" when I sew.
That said, I agree that having Brian (or any of the wonderful tarp makers out there) make my tarp is way cheep!
