Thank goodness for Radio Shack in every major American city and "universal" chargers...

The point of which is that when this vid came out on Monday, while I had broadband I couldn't also watch the movie! So Downloadhelper came to the rescue and I snarfed it for later viewing. And then came up short on a power adaptor so was in major "conserve battery charge mode" until yesterday when I got the replacement, and then disappeared into electronic free zones until last night.

All of which is to say I FINALLY got to see the video! Thanks for doing this, I'm going to be tinkering around with my DBs and suspension just for fun, also want to think about places where I've avoided using a biner because of weight but would like to have them. I like the soft shackles with carab knot (or whipping knot) sliders, that's the competition for the DBs.

ol' Dutch is going to have bloodied fingers inserting all those springs into all those biners....

gotta head back into the electronic zone of silence again... cheers
Sounds like some of my trips! I've not lost a charger but I've had them burn out!!! Try finding one in China ... harder than you'd think in the back country.

Well stay safe out there pal ... can't wait to see what you come up with using the DB!

Well, here's the picture Dutch wouldn't let me post until he'd unveiled the DB.

That's fabulous. I think Dutch should crop/resize and make that his avatar.

Nothing says rough, tough and strong like a kitten. So there is another good use--a pet leash.

With a 1,000 lb pull ... it could be a leash for a Bengal Tiger instead of a kitten!

You guys lack seriousness! Don't you recognize a cat toy when you see one?

Here's another very important advantage for me. When the hammock is hung and I want to adjust it, just pulling the whoopie thru the hugger makes a small synthetic cord rub against a larger synthetic webbing...that's a saw. You can actually cut thru rope by using a smaller cord like that. So normally, I have to pull up the hammock and hold it steady while I adjust so that it doesn't damage the hugger. Not impossible, but a nuissance.

With the DB, the whoopie is sliding against the metal, so there's no worry about that. For me, that's an important difference.
