I'm still on the road and away from shop data but I'll simply add some update on the JRB web site as related to suspension systems.
JRB is now offering the 1 inch Tree Saver straps in the light weigh poly pro webbing in both 42 inch lengths and 60 inch lengths... http://www.jacksrbetter.com/TreeSaverStraps.htm
There are also 60 inch Tree Saver Straps in the 1.5 inch size due in a week or so.
Also to facilitate the single souce ordering capability for suspensions utilizing the Dutch Clips and or Dutch Biners, JRB will also be offering whoopie slings by early September.

well that settles that, the Jacks will be carrying the HOT HOT HOT DutchBiner. Woohoo to all involved.
In playing around with this set up there was one advantage over a Marlin spike that really stands out to me. There's no chance of the whoopee slipping off the opposite side while your setting the other. If you're rushing to set up ... say in the rain .. The last thing you want to happen is your hammock to fall on the wet ground when you are setting up.
So that secure tie in really appeals to me.

I showed my wife your vid and she said I picked the right guy for the job. I could have never came up with such a clever production. Hawkeye didn't have the Biners in his hands for more than a couple days before he made it.
Peace Dutch

Just off camera was a hot blonde (my wife) ... kinda funny, she actually was giving good advice and not giggling ... too much
In a couple clips she was actually snoozing in the Traveler! Promised to hurt me if I put her in the video She made sure before I uploaded it Sunday night!
Thanks Dutch ... glad you liked the video as much as I like the biner ... switching my whoopee's to that rig ... no more dropping my hammock from the marlin spike!

Hawk-eye - Awesome video. You've outdone yourself.
Dutch - Awesome product. Finally a biner tailored to the hammock crowd.
Question: How do you guys handle adjusting the whoppie when it's installed 'backwards' like in the video? Normally I take the load off the whoopie by tucking the hammock under my armpit. My arms aren't long enough to do that with a backwards setup.

I've not had a problem with it ... just lift the line and slide ... just in reverse. Another thing ... Dutch pointed it out to me ... in the video I suggest making a whoopee that is a bit longer on the tail if you are using a tree that needs more hugger then you can let the whoopee slide through the loop and get the needed circumference. You can actually do that even if the bury goes through ... might be a little awkward to do but it works and does cause any issues with whoopee releasing .. actually binds it more.
I think what I'll do now is convert my tree huggers to all four foot lengths ... and carry a three foot section of Amsteel as an extender ... and just keep my existing whoopee's the same length. Three foot extender is lighter than even Paul's hugger.
But I'm going to definitely use a hugger whoopee in a fixed set up and amsteel loops on my hammocks. Then all I need do it clip in the biner to whatever hammock I use. When these get readily available ... going to get multiple sets of them.
There's more uses for a mini-biner with that kind of strength ... and I've not even thought too hard about it to know that!
OH and many thanks on the compliments ... glad you liked the video!
