Not much love for Clarks on this site, what specifically is the problem with these? Spent many a winter night drooling over their offerings, never pulled the string due to lack of funds, and after lurking around this site don't see too much love for them but I'm not exactly sure why. Can anyone enlighten me?

I think expense was an issue in earlier days, though quality was always rated very high by most. And even the expense was debated by some, due to the "complete" aspect of the Clark ( pockets and weather shields and such).

Also, isn't there a separate web site where Clark lovers tend to gather? Seems like I saw that in the past.

Then, the high quality WB seemed to sort of start dominating opinion here, more or less. But, though they are not all that vocal here, there are definitely some major fans of Clark.

Me, I have no experience with them. Which might be good, because I don't need to be tempted into yet another fine hammock!

I have one of every manufacturer except for WBBB and it is on it's way. But of those you mentioned I say the Clark. I have the NA and the Tropical II. I think in your case the Tropical II would be best.

The HH Tarp with doors is called the "Typhoon" and as I understand it will be up on the site in a couple of weeks. I believe they have had a delivery but I guess it takes time to get it listed.

Hennessy Explorer deluxe with Zipper - snake skins and large tarp, simply Heaven. check out the price and see what bang you get for your buck.

The new Typhoon tarp will have doors and should make a great winter tarp.

It has velcroe tabs that hold it up if necessary. Most of my camping is done here in the warm humid south. I leave the hood down most of the time and just have the net to allow circulation.

I have the WBBB and love everything about it. That said you may also want to consider a Claytor Jungle Hammock. Strong, double bottom construction, comes with a tarp all for $150 including shipping!

    WHAT!!!
please please please do a search with my name, That's all I talk about!!!
I Love my Tropical. I spend more time with it than I do with my husband
It was my first hammock and it's still my favorite hammock. There is no problem with "my" Clark!!

And as for the hood part closing, the head end is no-see-um with a covering that you can roll down to keep the top vented or there is velcro at the top to keep the nylon hood cover attached. I use this all the time in the open position because it's very hot/humid here. That's one of the main reason's I got the Tropical, that and I could also get the weathershield.

Oh, did I mention that I love my Clark
