    Holes in ENO?

    Hey all,
So I noticed yesterday that I had a hole in my ENO. I have no idea where it came from or how it happened. Should I be concerned? Should I try to patch it so it dosent get any worse? Will it get any worse? I guess I'm not really familiar with these types of materials and how durable they are. The hole is about the size of.... the lead in a pencil.

Ember from a fire most likely. Never patched an ENO before, but I've got a ripstop hammock that got a small hole. Patch is just a small piece of ripstop held with the C3 sail tape. It's got about 200+ night's on it since it was patched; no probelms

I've made patches of round pieces of nylon and used seam sealer for glue ... works pretty good.

I'm like Cannibal .. probably an ember ... but if you're packing your ENO with hardware ... I've seen those three thousand pound ENO biners nip the fabric by pinching it while it was packed.

I've used hot glue. A helper with leather gloves to mash the glue flat and into the fabric is helpful.

I agree with Hawk...those stupid biners are evil.

I had the same thing happen to mine this spring. go to their website, they have a patch that works great.....I through hiked the knobstone trail after the patch, and had absolutely no problems with it.

Excellent second post! I'd never noticed that product on their website.

Are you referencing the load capacity, or their weight?

I have a tiny hole in mine bit it is close to the edge so I have not as yet fixed it. I may use a dab of seam sealer on it one day. The other suggestion are all good. I think the tiny hole may have been caused by the original dreaded biners. I replaced them about two days after I got the hammock but I did pack and unpack it several times and those stupid things bite.

Thanks I just checked it out and sure enough it was right there. The kit is really cheap to, like $2.95 I think. I also noticed that EBO sells there own light weight carabiners. Like the repair kit I never noticed it before.
