    Newbie looking for some company

Howdy all, newbie in Sedona here. Wondering if there's anyone in the general area of N. Arizona that might like to get together for some air time. I'm retired but everyone I know isn't

I'm not against a little trekking but I still have some minor mobility & endurance issues after major back surgery 3 yrs ago and am out of shape. I'm looking to improve these challenges. I'm a stout old dodger tho, just no boot camp humps for me anymore. I have a heavily modified F250 CC so I can get to just about anywhere carrying friends and cargo or at least close enough. I also have a 25' WorldCat (big fishing boat) w/twin 150's for larger lakes (I'm on Lake Powell several times a yr) if water/fishing sounds like fun. I'm currently investigating ways to hang without tie offs since it's a favorite jaunt for me and not many trees there. I've found some ideas on this site but am still researching. I've also seen some hanger set ups into rock using cams or spikes. Worst case scenerio there are trees at the camp sites around Wahweep Marina which I have used.

I believe I can be contacted by email thru this site.

Cool gear! If it wasn't for the thousands of miles between us, you could have been my new best friend

Anyway.. I hope you find someone to hang with.
You might wanna take a look at the HF google map and see who's in your area.

Forgot to give you the map link :
    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...37109&z=4&om=1

If you use Google Earth to view it (just click the link in the top right corner), it'll be easier to use.

The google map thread is found here: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=2142

Welcome to Arizona! I'm actually going on a hang this weekend with a friend and you're more than welcome. We're doing an S240 -- or a quick in/out hike Friday/Saturday to Fisher Point in Flagstaff, Arizona. We're planning on backpacking about 9 miles, total, so nothing major, but it might be too much. We're also planning a hang in Sedona in the fall as an HF group, probably mid-September. Search the trip planning for the Oak Creek hang.
