    Hello from Scotland/England/California

    Good evening ladies and gents,

I'm Dave, I'm from Scotland, living in England and about to move to California in September to continue my studies.

I'm new to hammocking, but not that new to camping.

Also, in case the name isn't a clue, I like Whisky.

Right, now I've covered all the important stuff:

Peace and love (practising for CA),

    Dave

    Welcome to HF.

I prefer Jameson but Mister Tullamore is a bit more becoming.

Great people, good advice, lots of opinions

For the record, I'm an Islands man, my favourite being Lagavulin 16 years. I just finished a bottle of 10 year single cask Laphroig that was a Cooper's Choice bottling, the one before that was Arberg Uigedail. I'm really not sure how I'll cope without regular access to good whisky.

Also, in case anyone was wondering, I use an Exped hammock and I don't know how to classify the suspension as it's just plain weird. The ropes are braided and have braided in eyelets every 5 inches or so, there's no instructions so I've been threading two eyelets together then tying it like my shoelaces, seems to work nicely. If anyone's interested I'll get a picture of the set-up next time I go out.

    All the best,

    Dave
