    hammock bliss

hey folks....newbie here, while I am waiting for my claytor jungle hammock
I bought this cheap hammock bliss no-see-um-no-more hammock from campmor for $60 bux......and the verdict is.....

let me first say that I was a groud dweller for as long asI can remember but you guys won me over !........about 5 years ago I had and still do a lot of knee trouble...long story short I have a metal rod in my leg so I gained alot of weight to the tune of 100lbs because even walking is painful..so now i have been feverishly trying to trim down from 320lbs..back to at least 250lbs...
Anyhoo,...this little hammock bliss job even holds me !...boy was I surprised !
and if you go to the website www.hammockbliss.com you can see several videos on what they have....they even boast that this hammock can hold upto 700lbs....its worth getting for at least a back-up hammock that you can use as a lounge chair even....for $60 bux...you cant beat it !

    happy trails

Best of luck losing the weight. I've lost 50lbs. myself & can now hike further, faster than I ever thought I could.

My son goes around 285lbs. & really likes his. Having an inexpensive spare to offer is also good for those times when friends want to try out yours.

I have a hammock bliss hammock as well. It was on sale at Campmor, and I've been wanting a camping hammock for so long that it seemed like a good entry-level choice. I'm just back from a ten day canoe trip on the Allagash River in Maine where I slept in it every night. I thought it was fabulous. It took a couple days to get the knack of hanging it, but it was really comfortable. I'm sure the better known camping hammocks are better in any number of ways, but given that I don't know the difference, I was really happy with it. I hope you are as well. Best of luck!

My first hammock was a Hammock Bliss. I picked it up new for $29.00 about 5 years ago. I have used it many times with no issues. It really got me out there for not alot of money. It held my 300lb body comfortably through many nights. I am now successfully under 300lbs and hiking like crazy. You will definately enjoy the Hammock Bliss.

I am currently around 250 and I am working to get down below 200. My aim is to get a new WBBB and I am using that as a target reward.

That would be a good reward. Good luck!

    Hey all,

As a newbie, I, too, am thinking about getting a Hammock Bliss due to the price, and to see if hammock camping is indeed for me. However, it seems pretty obvious that most of the veterans on her use pricier brands such as Hennessy, Speer, JRB etc. What are some of the major problems with something cheaper such as a Hammock Bliss?

Nothing really. They are a bit heavier and don't have as many features. They are fine hammocks.

It is sort of like cars. A hammock like this one is like a good entry level car that get you where you want to go and if you never drive anything but your car you will be pretty happy with it.

But then one day you get into a Porsche, Mercedes, Lincoln, or some other high end car which had a lot of little tweaks and drive so smooth. Then you realize that maybe there is a reason you would spend some money on such a thing.

Appreciate the advice. Earlier this evening I decided to go for it and order the Hammock Bliss w/ the bug netting. Looking forward to trying it soon!
