Glad you found relief for your lower back pain, Thase. Enjoy the Blackbird.

I can testify that the hammock helps tremendously with upper back problems as well.

I know the feeling! Great funny feeling it is when you go to get up and wait to feel the sharp radiating pain then you realize, holy cow>>> not a thing! Glad to see you've found the ultimate back relief!!!!!

I have talked to many a tent camper who complain about back pain from sleeping on the ground and I tell them, get a hammock. After camping in mine I never want to go back to the ground.

    Thumbs up Good Night's Sleep!

I don't have trouble with back pain but I can't sleep more than 4-5 hours in a normal bed. I started using a hammock this year for camping/backpacking and found the best night's sleep ever. I sleep a full 8 hours, or more lol, and much more refreshed than if using a pad etc. I'll never go back. More options, better "airflow" and no condensation problems like a tent...Bush

We all seem to be singin'

    from the same hymnal!

I distinctly remember my first night in a hammock: I froze.

I also remember my second night in a hammock: After adding the appropriate insulation I got a good night's sleep, and when I stood up I didn't even feel the need to stretch. Or groan or wimper.

Tax write off? Read about a guy that wrote off his pool since he had to use it nearly daily for therapy. Seriously.

I'm having trouble getting comfy in my Blackbird. It's not a fault of the BB, but the fact that I'm a stomach/side sleeper...so I keep finding myself rolling around in the hammock trying to get comfy and never quite settle down long enough to sleep.

Hopefully I figure it out soon...it would suck if I'm just not compatible with hammocks. I would like to get a good nights sleep outdoors when it's cooler, and the dogs won't wake me.

In a bed (or on the ground), this is me too; however, I found with a hammock, I could actually sleep on my back, and loved it. In bed, I feel like rotisserie as I roll around after one side starts hurting or falling asleep/pins/needles.

If sleeping on your back is out of the question, I know side sleeping is very possible, but it may take some time to get used to. In smaller hammocks, like the Nano 7, I side sleep.
