    Noob from Sweden

    Hello!

I found this site almost by accident after looking at some bushcraft videos. I had no idea hammocks were used for serious camping, but I could see the benefits right away! Sleeping comfortably, setting up and breaking camp in virtually no time - these were things I never associated with hiking before! Also, I really liked the plethora of suspension ideas that are out there - tinkering with the gear will definately become a hobby in it's own right!

I decided on a HH UL Explorer for my first hammock - I'll be using it for fishing trips and general hiking - maybe even hunting in the future. So far, I have managed to hang it loosely in my apartment just to check it out and mount the snakeskins, but tomorrow I'll be trying it for real

Thanks for providing so many wonderfully creative ideas and getting me hooked on hammocking! See you around

    /Rasmus

    Welcome!

I found the site in a similar way and it convinced me that hammocks were the way to go. I just purchased a WBBB Dbl 1.7 and superfly, a Ohm backpack and numerous other accessories. I am doing a 4 day trip to the Superior Hiking Trail in northern Minnesota, USA this fall and 3 month SE Asia trip in early 2011. Would love to hear about your travels in a different part of the world.

    Again welcome to the forums,

    Mike

Thanks for all the kind and welcoming words!

As promised, I did a quick test of my setup today and took a few pictures. Suggestions for improvement are welcome!
