When converting to WS, do I lose the ability to attach the fly to the hammock suspension? I just can't wrap my mind around the configuration of a fly attached to the whoopie. Call me silly!!

Yes, but if you pitch the tarp to the tree rather than the suspension you will have a better--tighter pitch any way. So win win.

Or how will the stock prussik connectors work on Zing-It on the fly? Or am I overthinking this?
I use the woopies with the fly with the basic HH prusik knot that came with the original suspension. I had to add another loop or two in the knot to keep it from slipping. You just need to loosen the prusik before adjusting the woopie.
To have the fly hang higher above the hammock, I added a loop of cord between the prusik and the fly. I post a photo the next time I hang.
