Need some HF help on finding supplies...

A last minute spot opened up for me on a Quetico trip but I haven't set up my hammock yet for camping. The rest of the group is HH users and I need to get my ENO ready for the trip.

Unfortantly I watched a few hours of Shug and read a ton of forum postings. Now all of a sudden I find the need to build some whoopie slings and nacrobiners.

Anyone know where I can get ahold of Amsteel blue in 7/64" or 1/8" in Minnesota? I called everyone listed on the Samson website, either they weren't open or didn't stock it.

    Thoughts?

Do you have a local West Marine store? They will likely have some.

There are quite a few vendors here on the forum that ship quickly.

Already called them first thing this AM, they didn't have any in stock and couldn't get it in time for me.

+1 on paul at AHE. He always gets back to you very quickly. He also has every thing you will need except for a tarp, but he offered to make me one last year.

I agree with ordering through Paul at Arrow Head Equipment.

But if he doesn't have what you need, Redden Marine is good as well.

    Quite the day of shopping...

So I picked up an ENO bugnet for my ENO doublenest.
Father-in-law dropped of two crazy creek hammocks tarps he bought for $4 each at a garage sale. They are a little strange, but I can modify them for what I need.
Picked up some 1/8" amsteel blue, 2mm reflective cord, figure 9's, 1" strapping and some other various things.

Turns out West Marine had the amsteel blue 1/8" in stock, turns out the person who told me they didn't have it wasn't a big rope guy.

    Thanks for all the help!

The West Marine store may have had the Amsteel under the manufactures name of Sampson Rope which can lead to some confusion. The West Marine store here only has the two smallest sizes and only in gray in stock. But even the 7/64 is rated for 1,600 pounds.
