I like light I bet I'll get a lighter hammock as well eventually.

He's an Amstaff/ Rottweiller 50/50 breed. Kindest, most curious dog ever. Never barks. (But drools A LOT)
    Hi TWD, Min svenska kompis
Do you visit denmark often?? we should meet up, Malmö ain´t that far away(i live 20km north of Copenhagen.)

And yeah... light gear is good, it allows to take along a lot of other useless stuff
But the main reason i use this setup is because its fast, easy and dont wick water(i was out hanging with TheWild this weekend - alot of rain) and found that whoopieslings work really good at leading water away from the hammockbody in even more extreme situations).
As an added bonus there is less bulk.

I have Amstaff/Rednose 50/50 breed, like your dog she is very curious - she never barks(unless something is off) drools alot on my clothes - well actually she drools on everything
But she is an amazing dog - love that creature

I'm not sure round carabiners of suitable strength exist. I would view it as a safety hazard. A truly circular carabiner would be too easy to spin around such that the force is pulling on the gate which is far weaker than the rest of the device.

Descending rings (with no gate, must be tied to) are readily available though.
