I have a Claytor Jungle Hammock that I am very pleased with. But it's rain tarp is just too skimpy. I need a lot more dry/shady space under the tarp than this thing makes. Why am I so special? Because I'm not a backpacker, I'm a goat packer. I have 3 pack goats who carry all my stuff. This is great, but there is more gear to keep dry (pack saddles and panniers). I have started leaving the hammock's puny little tarp at home and have been taking a 9x12 plastic tarp for me and an 8x10 for the goats (too small) instead. These tarps work ok by they are too bulky. A sil-nylon tarp would be better, I think. I have a 10x10 nylon tarp from Campmor that is ok, but it has all these ties sewn all over it, each of which leaks a bit in serious rain.
I actually need 2 such tarps, one for me and the gear, and one for the goats to hang out under.
Any suggestions?
