Making sure I'm doing this right, comment please.

The nano-7 came in while I was eating Low Country Boil. Whoopies also arrived.
I simply removed the OEM biners and threaded through the whoopies into the channel then did the larks head....at 194-196 pounds am I good with whoopies in the channels? I'd hate to fall and crack the earth and promulgate a chain of tectonic events that might threaten us all.

That should work fine; it's what I did and I've had no problems.

I am assuming that you are using Dynaglide for the whoopies since you mention the weight!? If so you should be fine, remember that Gargoyle is/has been using them for quite some time with no problems!!
I have the Nano with Dynaglide whoopies and I took some paracord (just the outer sheath) and slid it over the whoopie (fixed eye end) to add a little more protection to the channel's as I felt the material felt rather thin and was worried about the Dynaglide wearing through it, no problems yet and have had it set up a few time's! I think it was Srg. Rock whom mentioned using some paracord sheaths!

Just add a half hitch below the gathered end knot, and you will have peace.

The lump that results from gathering is what I call a knot. I use the line that runs through the channel to put a clove hitch below it.
