Sorry in advance for a dumb newbie question. I have a Trek Light hammock which is very much like the ENO..... gathered ends with cord loop permanently attached and a carabiner. I've been using the suspension system that came with the hammock which is simply a 5 ft. loop of heavy duty static cord with knots at intervals for clipping in the biner at the right level. Very easy, but not micro-adjustable. I've looked at the pictures and watched Shug's video about using webbing with an end loop/carabiner/descender rings and I think that looks pretty cool, and very adjustable. Here's my question ...... How to attach the loop from my hammock to the rings? Can I simply clip my carabiner over the 2 rings and have it still function properly? That would be really easy and quick. Or should I attach a small loop of cord to the rings and then clip in the biner? Or should I forget the biner all together and attach the rings permanently to the hammock loop with a lark's head sort of thing? Also, what's a good length for the webbing? I was thinking 6 ft. I 'll be using my hammock on whitewater rafting trips in Utah/Idaho/Wyoming/etc. so I'll be using a wide variety of trees and maybe even rocks for hammock hanging.
Thanks
KJ
