If Sgt.Rock said jump off a cliff I would :)

Per his suggestion I purchased a Nano-7, subbed out the OEM biners for whoopies.....tot.weight of hammock/whoopies 6.5 ounces.
I feared it might be too narrow--NOT the case. It took 20 seconds to find a sweet spot with asym lay.
The MLD HEX post some minor surgery, with Opie cont. ridgeline, Penburthies on each end, one S-biner, one figure-9, 2 prussics for clipping things to, four guylines.....tot. weight 8.5 ounces including stuff sack.
    Couple that with a:
    Te-wa summer UQ......9.6 ounces
    Nunatak Arc Edge.......12.5 ounces

    A theoretical 40F rating at a tot. of 37.1 ounces. (2.3 pounds)
Still have to throw in some tree huggers though.

Wish I lived someplace with temps that we could get away with some of that sort of summer gear. Went for what was going to be a 2 night trip--drive into trail head and camp on Friday night, hike in sat out sun. The temp got into the 20's. Condensation on the bug net, yep warm enough at bed time to need one, froze within minutes when I got up at 7:30 Saturday morning. I am very envious of being able to use a light weight summer set up. Nice weight on your kit MM.

I like my Nano 7 and I like Sgt. Rock, but there is NO way I am jumping off a rock for any type of gear suggestion. I'm just sayin'.

    Surely Rock wouldn't ask--just saying
Paul, you're part of this system!
CrankyBear-don't know if I'd go cuben yet--spinnUL still IMHO is the best at this time considering all factors...now in 2 years when cuben is everywhere....

O I know And I am using those my self too, but being able to cut the insulation weight so low and I know both those quilts are fine gear that pack small, I am jealous for that. I could only get away from a bug net in winter, and even summer temps in the mountains here can be so cold that I am using a near winter weight (by some standards) quilt set in August

I don't know if I would jump off a cliff either. Who knows he just might say to do it!

And Paul what did you do with that fish you are holding in your avatar, the fat content would help you stay warmer at night, if in fact you did eat it?
