Yet annother Noob question 1.0 or 1.1?

Am looking to purchase my first hammock and decided on a BB. I'm 5'4" and, sigh, 160lbs. I feel sure I'll regret admitting that. Yes, female. I want the double because I plan on using a pad, but I just don't see ta whole lot of difference in the 2 fabrics as far as weight of hammock, max weight and max flatness are concerned. Is there a large difference in the durability of the 1.1 over the 1.0 or some other unknown-to-me factor? Or is it just the 10 - 20 lbs.?

I'm sorry if this has been posted already recently and I didn't find it.

I am 5'8" and weigh around 165...I have the 1.0 double layer (also because I wanted to use a pad)...

unless you plan to put on another 25% of your weight, you aren't near the max flatness rating, so stick with the 1.0. I can't imagine any significant difference in durability of a fabric that weighs .1 ounce more per cubic yard than the lighter. Maybe in a 1.0 vs a 1.9, but not 1.0 v 1.1.

One is grey, the other Coyote (which sounds more designer, so maybe you should pick the 1.0), so just choose the one that matches your pack and sleeping bag!

    Just my .02.

(by the way, I don't see any reason to regret telling us your weight, unless you plan to ask someone if your hammock makes you look fat I don't think anyone here will give you any trouble)

I think you'd be fine with a DL 1.0. Great hammock choice BTW.

I think that Coyote Brown looks awesome. I contacted Brandon to see if he could find some 1.7 in Coyote for me...no go unfortunately.

I'll just have to lose another 100lbs or so.

I like the double so the bugs can't bite through on the bottom. If you use a pad the double will hold it in place. If weight savings is your goal, go single, otherwise the double will be fine. I love my double. Oh, I'm 5'5 180lbs.
