Hey guys, here is a video of our hammock camping trip in the Linville Gorge two weeks ago. We do a hike out Rock Jock then double back and head down the Conley Cove trail to camp beside the Linville River. We did the Rock Jock and Conley trail on one day and hiked out the next. I don't think I'd recommend that. It would be nice to have one more day before having to hike back out of the gorge. This was my youngest son's first overnight hang in a hammock, and he did fantastic!
None of my pro-grade cameras have video, so I've never tried taking video on a hiking trip, but you guys inspired me to give it a try. This is my very first hiking video using an ancient 3 MP digital camera, so please excuse the really bad video quality, but I still hope you enjoy it. We had a lot of fun. In case you're wondering, we do exaggerate our Southern accents at times, but we don't have to exaggerate much.
I'll have a new camera for the next trip. This is dedicated to all of the outstanding members of Hammock Forums who have helped me learn a completely new way of enjoying the great outdoors, hangin' in the trees.
I want to send a special thank you to Ken and Hawk-eye for answering numerous questions and for the great GPS files that Ken provided on his website, linvillegorge.net. It was great for locating points of interest.
