That was a great video and your boys are real troopers for hiking when it is so hot. Thank you for sharing.

    Salty,

    Great video. Keep 'em coming.
Makes me yearn for the times my kids were that age when we'd go out into the woods. You've lots of great adventures to come with those fine young men.

Looking forward to seeing you and hopefully them at the LG hang.

    Looks like an awesome trip.

I enjoyed your son at the end doing a Slingblade impression, it made me think of Shug too.

Thanks, Squatty. No, all I found was a double dead hemlock. I tried to do a double-rainbow tribute, but I couldn't do it as well as you did, so it didn't make the final cut. Nearby hikers would have probably called a ranger, anyway.

Thanks, Sarge. It was very nice, but all of our planned water sources were bone dry, and we had to drink out of the river (filtered). Yuck! So far, I've not sprouted any more toes, so I guess we'll live.

It was hot! The first day, as soon as the sun would pop out, it felt like 99% humidity and it just sucked the energy out of us. We were all drenched. They did great, though. I like how you talk, too. I once worked with a speaking coach. I told him I wanted lose my accent. He said something that really stuck with me. He said that it would sure be boring if everyone spoke like TV newscasters. I decided I'd just keep my accent. I swear the reason I slurred my words was from exhaustion and not drinking.

Kids are like sponges. It's amazing what all they can learn from watching YouTube. They seem to adapt to it so well, I sometimes wonder if we aren't missing a great teaching tool. Of course, some teachers do use YouTube, etc. Yeah, I've got that Southern accent down...been practicing the last 40-somethin' years.

Yeah, they sure grow up fast. I hope we'll have many more years of spending time together outdoors. Maybe they'll still come see me every once in awhile after they fly the coop. We'll see you at the fall hang!

It was a fun one. Next thing you know, he'll ask for a unicycle for Christmas.

    .

I'd boil and filter water out of the river. (jmo)
There's lots of farm land runoff and such that runs into the river upstream of the gorge.

Hey there ~ That was great! Really warmed my heart to see you boys having quality time together. Great music. The Shug impression was dead on! Snot worm made me throw up a little in my mouth, but otherwise that was really really enjoyable to watch.
