Buy before try... TBH it's the only way I've ever done it. If I'd waited to by a DD until I ran into one in the wild, I'd still be waiting!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. It is so nice to have such a resourse of knowledge available. I watched some youtube videos which I'm sure some were people from this site that was helpful. You can't watch or listen to a podcast from Shug that isn't a carnival in itself. The more serious ones are great as well.

You picked a fine hammock, just give it a chance and then if you don't like it, there are plenty more out there to choose from. Welcome to the forum

You only buy your first hammock once!

Make sure to spend a lot of time watching Shug's video's especially his 9 or 10 part "intro" series. Really really informative especially about the different hanging methods. And just crazy fun to watch. He has a channel and is a regular on here but I'm lazy so always just do a Shug Hammock search on YouTube.

Welcome. I'm new here too but more of a lurker though I post from time to time. I'm more of a regular over on BackPackingLight but now I slum it here now :P Cultish groups are always so much more of a good time. lol
