Exclamation It's back on! HOT SPRINGS 9/17-19

The Hot Springs hang for September 17-19 is now back on schedule!

After much discussion over the past 2 days, Hangin' Burrito, Running Feather, and I are working on the arrangements to keep this hang going. We didn't want to see this hang fail, because it has become quite a tradition, and many people had already made vacation plans to attend. ***CORRECTION*** The normal main site (413) is reserved for us. As in the past, the only charge for this hang is $6 per night, to pay for the campsite.

At this time, details are still in the planning stages, as to group activities. We do want to still have the Saturday Night Hot Dog Roast, and we are interested in ideas from anyone else. Of course, as always, there will be no official agenda, just food, fun, and fellowship with our friends, old and new.

If you can bring anything to help with the Hot Dog Roast (rolls, dogs, condiments, firewood, "Sweetpea's Brownies",etc), please let us know. As we are trying to put this hang together at the last minute, we would appreciate any help.

Everyone is invited to come, even ground dwellers.

We really hope to see you there. For more info on Hot Springs, click here.

As we hear from you, we will add you to the list of attendees.

    Attendees:
    Hangin' Burrito
    Running Feather
    Shrek
    Snakeman
    Hogg_Tyed
    Sweetpea
    gunner76 +1
    Hoop Cheese
    Bearpaw
    Sleeps With Skunks
    Hooch
    Dancer
    Peanuts
    Shadowmoss
    Detail Man +4-5

To dispel any misunderstandings or gossip, I received the following message from Ed:

Sorry for the late moment change in plans. I'm on a geology work assignment in the mountains of western Idaho til Oct--this oppurtunity came up suddenly & I just couldn't turn it down. I hope to reschedule another campout for late Oct or early Nov. Have fun in HS.....Ed

Glad to know its back on. This will be my first group hang and hope to learn alot.

Only downside I can think of is that I might discover a lot of new toys I just have to have
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Only if Sleeps With Skunks sleeps on the other end of the campground.

This hangout is the same weekend as the Dolly Sods trip, so I will have to pass. I'll be hiking around Dolly Sods!

Shrek, if you need help editing the first post here, just ask.

Yes, it is unfortunate that both of these were scheduled for the same weekend, but I think it may be advantageous for getting more people out. If they can't get to one, maybe they can get to the other.

As far as editing, I think I've got that covered. I have already made probably 20 edits to that post.

I'm with you shrek, I think it's great that they are both happening and will get more people out. I never thought of this hang as a problem for the Dolly Sods hang. 1. Dolly Sods is in an area that is difficult for a lot of people to get to so you REALLY REALLY have to want to go there to get there. 2. They are different types of hangs. The Dolly Sods hang is more of a wilderness type hang with backpacking involved where this hang is not. Many people are not prepared to backpack but really like hanging. So I don't think it competes. It's all good.

Glad to hear the hang is back on! HC
