just got back from a hang at higgins lake, michigan.
we got pounded by rain and wind all night friday.
i've been using the warbonnet mamajamba spinn- and it held up great to the storm.
and now the problem:
the next morning i woke up to a ray of sunshine shining into the hammock. weird. i cleared my eyes and noticed a 2 inch rip in the spinn tarp. WTH
upon investigation, i noticed a brown ring (dirt) around the slit on the outside of the tarp. there were acorns all over the ground as autumn is rolling in. only thing i can guess is that an acorn fell from the sky and ripped right through the tarp?!
sooo, both a question and a warning.
CAN ACORNS FALLING FROM HIGH ENOUGH RIP THROUGH A SPINN TARP PITCHED TIGHT AS A DRUM??!?
IS SILNYLON MORE FORGIVING TO FALLING DEBRIS??
either way, this is in no fault of the maker or user, merely an unhappy relationship between mother nature and ul fabric.
