    Nubee stuff

Hello all I have a ENO doublenest. I just purchased whoopie slings and an adjustable ridgeline for it. Another question that I have is how do you all keep your gear off of the ground underneath your hammock? Eno has the underbelly, but it seems like there should be something better/cheaper/easier (any or all acceptable). We are going out mid to late October and I am trying to get all my stuff together for this trip.

I look forward to hearing your ideas.

BTW, being new here is like trying to get a sip of water from Niagara Falls.

You could check out McIntyre's gear box here.
Others lay a ground sheet and leave their gear on it under their hammocks.
You could hang it off your tarp ridgeline or you hammock suspension depending on how big your pack is.

Welcome! I lay my pack on the ground, face up, almost under the hammock. That way I can reach in while I am laying down.

    1. You could get a pack cover and hang from a tree.
    2. You can make a gear hammock for almost nothing.
    3. You can hang it from the ridgeline.

I usually try to hang my pack off the suspension (close to the tree works best if you have a heavy pack, but at the head end of your hammock also works if the pack is on the lighter side.)

I take an extra carabiner just for this. I like for everything to be off the ground, but that's just me. 2Q's ridgeline organizer has always looked very good to me (listed above).

I carry a 3'x4' piece of Tyvek that I spread under the hammock and tarp for putting my pack and my shoes on. I don't "hang" my pack and whatever is left in it, though I do "hang" my food bag away from the main camp area.

I like the ground sheet. Gives me a place to scatter my kit, take off my shoes. Keeps my feet clean, gets less dirt in the hammock.

A 3'x3' or 4'x4' piece of plastic sheeting, tyvek, old tent floor etc. will work fine and not be heavy.
If there were no trees, you can use this groundsheet to lay on.

During the night, zip up your backpack and close it off the best you can, keeps out the bugs. Then fold the ground over the pack, keeping it dry top and bottom.

Food bag hangs far away, if bears are an issue. I usually put my food bag by Ewker's tent...
