I have a set of 5' and 6'...I made a set of amsteel extenders too. I had to improvise with paracord in the past, so a very limited weight penalty for a double fixed eye of about 18'' is a nice thing to keep in the bottom of the pack..

I hope I don't have to carry 12 footers in the future...then again maybe I will want to.
Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!

12' here and that's too short at times. PNW trees are monsters, especially the old growth.

I have a 6' and an 8' (one of each, not two pairs) for west coast trees. I once needed to use a tree (doug fir) that was 12'+ in circumference, and this worked fine because my amsteel suspension lines were long enough to make up the difference. That's one reason I really like a tree strap/amsteel line setup tied with a figure 8 lash (like stock Hennesseys I think) - for the weight I get a lot of flexibility in tree size and spacing.

i find that 2 meters is suficient for the trees in my area. And since im in canada i dont need to deal with this whole "feet" conundrum of yours because ive got the metric system

Recently switched from 6' to 8', with Whoopie Slings. Sometimes the trees are bigger or the spread is not optimal.

Mine run about 5ft. I made my whoopies very long, so the tree straps only need to reach aroumd the tree. I carry other things with me that I will use in a pinch should the straps come up a little short.

Mine are 5 footers but I carry a 3' section of amsteel with a fixed eye at both ends.
The 5' straps will go around a 1.5' diameter tree which is as big a tree as I can get my arms around.

But, as in real estate, location - location - location! There are plenty of managable trees up and down the eastern seaboard from Florida to New England which is where I hang.

Note to self: If I ever hang in Oregon, take a whole roll of strap with me

The trees our here get pretty big so I have a secondary set of 5' to go with the original set of 7'.

Mine are about 6', due simply to having found a deal on a 12' ratchet strap that I cut in half and sewed loops on. I would like to have something a bit longer though.
