    Length of your tree straps?

I have been using one inch wide, seven feet long tree straps with my now dynaglide whoopie slings on my WBBB. Seven Feet of strap has worked but is generally a little more than needed. I have been thinking of going with shorter straps.

What length do you use and why?

all depends where you do most of your hanging. out here 7 ft straps may be a little short

I voted more than 7, and could have used well more than that a few times, and well less a lot of times. For reference 90% of the straps we sell are 6 foot finished.

Sometimes I have to improvise........ or look for skinny trees.
I don't mind. As long as I am in the piney woods.

I like em long. Flexibility is more important to me than ounces/grams when it comes to my suspension and my ability to hang "wherever the blank I want!"

Another 5 footer here. But I agree with Plowhorse it really depends on where you do a majority of your hanging.

Here in NY I find that 7+ is what I end up needing. There are allot of mature trees here and needed 8 ft or more just to get around the tree. I use to carry two sets of HH tree huggers, but I have switch to the dutch clip and marlin spike method so I can adjust my straps to the size of the tree. Much easier setup now.

Mine are a hair under 5' at 57". I added a small loop to the bottom where I can just slide the toggle in in times I need the entire length of the strap to go around the tree. I've only ran into this once. But then again I usually have thousands of trees to choose from. Some places where you only have big older trees may require longer straps. In that case you could make some strap extenders.
